Timed Circuit

Saturday, 26 August - 1400hrs

The Timed Circuit challenge involves pilots or competitors timing themselves from a rolling start to their first touchdown. It's a unique race against the clock where accuracy in estimating your time is key. Your predicted time will be written on the score sheet, but the Air Judge won't provide any real-time feedback during the circuit.

Here's how it works:

  1. The Air Judge starts the timer when you begin your take-off roll.
  2. The timer stops when your aircraft makes its initial touchdown (excluding bounces), as determined by the Air Judge.
  3. Alongside the time aspect, your circuit performance and spot landing also contribute to your score.

Additional points:

  • Bonus points are awarded for skillful circuit execution and precise spot landings.
  • If air traffic control (ATC) causes a circuit interruption, you can coordinate with the Air Judge to pause and restart the timer.

The winner of the competition is the participant with the highest overall score, combining accurate timing, circuit competency, and bonus points.

Due to the renovations in the members lounge, please gather in Lecture Room 1 for the sign in for the competition.
